Happy New Year, from the 9-12 Pikes Peak Patriots

To say 2016 brings many challenges and opportunities may in itself be the understatement of the year. As 2016 begins our 7th year, it is time to use the things we have learned, the many talents our members possess along with their ideas and passions in more ways to make greater impacts on our culture and communities.  912 is your organization and what it becomes and how effective it remains depends on how those passions, ideas, and talents are applied and the amount of ownership each of us takes in the areas we are most passionate about.

Our next meeting is 13 January at 6:30 PM at CSCS and much of it will be dedicated to the “vision” for our 7th year and beyond. It will be about you and where you fall in as we expand the “912 Wheel” to better use those great many talents each of you brings to the table.

912ers have always been “doers” and we have done a great many things, but as 2016 brings with it a wide variety of challenges it is time to refocus and to make what we do what the times we live in require us to do.

Also, in meeting those challenges and to take advantage of those new opportunities, we went to our members; first in the form of a member survey then in the last meeting in discussing some of the survey and to listen to what was on each other’s minds about the future of 912 PPP and in another e-mail, we’ll be asking for some specifics on some of those answers on the survey as well as offering answers to some of your comments and concerns.

The 13th is important for our future as an organization and we hope to see as many of you as possible.   As a side note, it’s also the day the 2016 State Legislature gets back to work, so as the saying goes, “hold on to your wallets.”   Each of you is invited to a Town Hall on Saturday the 9th of January at CSCS, 9:30 AM, as Rep Janak Joshi, Senators Kent Lambert, and Owen Hill give their takes on the coming legislative session and to answer your questions. County Commissioner Peggy Littleton will also join us to talk about what 2016 might mean for El Paso County. We hope to see you there as well.

We hope each of you had an great Christmas and wish each of you a blessed New Year.
