Today, his colleagues unanimously elected El Paso County’s very own Steven J. Durham Chairman of the Colorado State Board of Education.
Durham was appointed to the board on December 2, 2014, by the 5th Congressional District Vacancy Committee gathered at El Paso County Republican Headquarters, after Paul Lundeen resigned to join the State House of Representatives.
Durham, a former state legislator whom President Ronald Reagan appointed Regional Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, is fighting to enhance preserve school choice, empower parents, and battle federal overreach, especially in the form of Common Core.
Between Durham as Chairman of the BOE, Bill Cadman as President of the State Senate, and Wayne Williams as Colorado Secretary of State, El Paso County Republicans are playing an outsized role in state leadership. Best,
