I want to thank the “Echo” for the blog that seemed to have hit a raw spot among some Insider readers.  Does that sound like something the SOS would do?”  No it does not because the SOS doesn’t complain and attack, the organization works hard to highlight weakness and our suggested improvement.  The organization also words hard to replace individuals in elected positions that fail to met our core values and standards.  So please give the organization credit for our hard work.  I’ll thank you in advance.

I discussed the in the past when some stated the District was unsafe why didn’t they move their children to a more friendly/safe District.  Colorado has one of the most relaxed schooling rules in the nation.  A parent can just about take their Children to any District they want to, so why not?

There are some who are just not happy unless they are complaining.  Happiness for some, is never in reach, while others can find joy in just the fact they are still breathing.   Good night.

PS….. just got back from Estes Park, one of my favorite short trips, great food, night life and fishing.  Got a weekend with nothing to do, head north.

Just out of curiousity, what is the SOS/3Cs position on MrChamber’s failure to attend several Board events? Including the Board retreat, 2 years in a row; the Superintendant interviews and the CASB Conference, for which fees were paid by D-22 and to my knowledge have yet to be reimbursed by MrChambers?

I understand that MrChambers is up for re-election in 2013. Is this someone the SOS/3Cs will be endorsing? Is he representative of the core values and standards that you referenced?

I don’t want these questions to be offensive, I do not mean them that way. I just want to determine how my standards for an elected official compare. I do believe that elected officials should attend most meetings, events and especially events that require payment by D-22 for their attendance.

    Thanks!

(To be fair, I don’t know if D-22 has a policy requiring reimbursement of fees for events not attended. If they don’t they should initiate one)

    Thanks for posting my comments/questions.

I was hoping for someone from the 3Cs/SOS to address these facts regarding a Board member. More importantly, I was hoping for an answer regarding how this person’s record reflects the group’s “core values and standards”.

For me, the facts of MrChamber’s record make him someone I will not be voting for. He does not meet my standards for an elected official. I do check voting and attendance records for when making my voting decisions.

The fact that nobody from the 3Cs/SOS group chose to address these questions shows they are not intetested in addressing actual FACTS about Board members.

I’m sorry that you feel that someone should have responded “by now”. I will be responding but life events may impact some. But; where does attendance fit into your “core values and standards”? What surprises me and concerns me is that attendance of one seems to be more important than other values and standards. If Mr Chambers just didn’t attend, it will upset me. But I believe all members have missed or walked out of some meeting. Yes, I feel it is very important for individuals to represent those that voted for them and that can’t be done by not being there. I also understand that some of the Board Members have jobs that require their presents and families that count on them. More to follow.

Ps I’m also disappointed in your last sentence, “The fact that nobody from the 3Cs/SOS group chose to address these questions shows they are not intetested in addressing actual FACTS about Board members.” This, I see as showing your true bias, is attendence a true interest to any group?

Yes, I value attendance, just as an employer values attendance.

It is not my only requirement, but it is one of them. I do not appreciate someone committing to an event, fees being paid on his behalf and then not attending. I am not basing my opinion on personal feelings or gossip, but on actual events. Yes, I realize the members have other committments, but since the dates for 3 out of the 4 events I mentioned were agreed upon by the members, I do expect that all the members attend.

By many accounts, MrChambers seems to be a nice guy and a committed family man, I credit him for that. I do not hold it against him, personally, that he is unable to attend all events. I simply think that he has too many committments to participate fully as he was elected to do.

I will apply this same standard to anyone running for any elected post. In addition, I look at voting records, etc. I do not have a bias and I don’t vote based on gossip or rumors. My last statement simply referred to the fact there are always plenty of responses when the comments are based on rumors. I was asking a good faith question based solely on facts and nobody responded. I guess it wasn’t controversial enough to create a stir 😉

Thanks for responding and posting my comments.
